Teaching Your Children About First Aid
Posted by Dean on October 9th, 2008The children are prone to injuries and wounds and there is nothing much to worry about them, provided your children have knowledge of first aid. The first aid rules must be taught to your children, no matter whether he learns through homeschooling or visits a school nearby.
You can teach your child about elements for a first aid box. This will include bandages, ointments, antiseptics, scissors, cotton packs and other basic items. In fact, you can ask your child to prepare his or her own first aid box and decorate it. It will be a fun activity for your child and he or she will learn about the importance of first aid box.
Apart from first aid box, you must teach about child safety rules to your child, as he or she starts moving out of house for going to school or playing in the garden. This includes road safety rules, precautions against accidents and protection rules for riding a bicycle. Also, provide them knowledge about food products, which are capable of offering nutrition for kids.
I have a daughter, who is always blessed with injuries in different body parts all the time. But, as a responsible parent, I had already taught her about handling minor injuries and wounds. In fact, if any other member of the family attains injuries, she is ready with her first aid box to take care of the member.
Teaching about safety and first aid rules is amongst the first few aids, which must be taught to your children at right point of time.
