Keeping in Touch
Jewelry June 17th, 2010I am very busy with my restaurant business that I didn’t manage to keep in touch with my parents. One day my mom called to ask how I was doing, I said I’m doing well and business is booming. She congratulated me and she said she still has something to do. I didn’t realize that she and dad were having financial problems. My mom sell old jewelry to get by, dad looking for stuff that he could sell as well. An old acquaintance of mine which happened to drop by for a visit told me about their current situation.
I called my mom and she confirmed my worries, she is selling jewelry at an online store. She also told me not to worry too much about them. The price that she got from her jewelries would be enough for their needs and I don’t have to worry about anything else. I left my restaurant to the care of my manager and gave them a surprise visit. They were indeed doing well; they had completely solved their financial problems. I apologized for not keeping in touch with them and promised to visit more often. I stressed out that if they need help, they should approach me right away. They said that they will do just that. I kissed them goodbye and made a mental note to visit them twice every month, just to see how they’re doing.
