Media coaching is the best way to learn speaking techniques. Only with control over your thoughts and composed speech, the risk of misquotation can be reduced. If you would take media training then you would be able to save yourself from being misquoted

Here are four ways you have to follow if you want to eliminate the risk of being misquoted.

1) Try to become more accurate. Don’t try to give long speeches. People who say more have the chances of misquotation. Write one or two pages consist of basic facts regarding your views for them. It would be useful in several ways. It allows you to provide basic information during the interview instead of giving details and reporters have the opportunity to   get your quote right and make it significant.

2) If you are giving interview on phone, slow down your speech so that reporter can understand your each and every word. Similar in personal interview when reporter is writing down your speech, give enough time to catch every word.

3) Sometime reporters offer interviews through email. You are auspicious enough if such an opportunity you have. It allows complete control over your words but carefully check you response before sending to reporter if needs correction. Do not rely on this method of interviewing because you have to establish good relations with reporters that can be achieved over phone or in a personal meeting.
